Dear Mayor:

Today Verizon announced they are filing for a system wide video franchise.  This filing will seek authorization to offer the service initially in 316 municipalities.  A list of the communities is available at the League web site http://www.njslom.org/video_franchise_main.html

If you have questions about this State administered process there will be several opportunities for you to learn more about it.

You can attend the Annual League Conference session “The New Look of Cable Franchises” Wednesday, November 15 2:00PM in room 402 of the Atlantic City Convention Center.

We also urge you to attend one of the two regional meetings held by the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (BPU).  The first is November 17, 2006 at 4:00 PM at the BPU office Two Gateway Center Newark.  The second is November 21, 2006 at 4:00PM in the Cherry Hill Municipal Building, 820 Mercer St. Cherry Hill.
