League of Municipalities'
Executive Director Bill Dressel expressed appreciation for
the work of Governor Corzine's Property Tax Reform Transition
Policy Group.
Earlier today,
the Tax Reform Group's interim report was released in Trenton.
The report calls for quick Legislative action on the Governor's
campaign platform to: 1) increase property tax rebates;
2) hold a special legislative session focused on property
tax reform; and 3) pass legislation asking the people of
New Jersey to decide if they need a Citizens' Convention
to recommend long lasting reforms
"This report
was a long time coming," said Dressel. "But now
that it's here, I hope the Administration wastes no time
in energetically advocating its recommendations. We stand
ready to help the Governor on this most important issue.
The people of New Jersey will not tolerate any unnecessary
delays."
